High Court surrenders convicted murderer to Northern Ireland
The High Court has ordered the extradition of James Meehan, a 54-year-old man with addresses in Derry City and Kells, County Meath, to Northern Ireland following his unsuccessful application to stay the proceedings. Meehan was convicted in 2009 of the murder of Jim McFadden, which occurred in Donegal in May 2007. He received a life sentence with a minimum custodial term of 14 years.
