Full description from the council file
the development will consist of the reinstatement of the existing quarry at Ballynamona, by importing 223,000 tonnes per annum of soil and stone over a 14-year period, with the final profiling and landscaping completed in the following year. The annual soil and stone intake will comprise approximately 128,000 tonnes of non-waste materials notified as by-product under the Article 27 By Product Regulation and up to a maximum of 95,000 tonnes of inert soil and stone classified as waste. The quantity of non-waste material may vary from year to year, while the volume of waste material shall not exceed 95,000 tonnes in any calendar year. The total annual intake of soil and stone will not exceed 223,000 tonnes in any given year. The proposed development also allows for the provision of an additional wheel-wash, two weighbridges, site/weighbridge office and welfare facilities (c. 52sq. m), a waste acceptance quarantine area and a proprietary sanitary wastewater treatment system, and all associated works within an overall application area of 23.8 ha. The reinstatement will require a Soil Recovery Licence issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The planning application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment Report
